Claims Handling
All claims arising out of risks covered by the The British European & Overseas FD&D Facility Policy should immediately be notified to the Managers DGS Marine Management Services (DGS). Relying on their own expertise, the claims handler concerned will take care of all necessary steps and secure the position of the Assured.
The earlier DGS is informed / involved, the better we can advised and/or defended a claim. Quick and efficient actions can minimize the costs – which is not only to the benefit of The British European & Overseas FD&D Facility but also of the Assured because the individual insured’s statistic is then not charged with unreasonable claims costs. Immediate attention is therefore of utmost importance!
The Claims Handling Team of The British European & Overseas FD&D Facility consists of
- Master mariners holding full foreign going shipmaster’s licences with extensive seagoing experience on various types of worldwide trading vessels.
- Lawyers specialised in international transport and insurance law. From previous employment and experience, inter alia as FD&D correspondents, they are all familiar with the worldwide handling of all kinds of FD&D as well as other shipping cases.
- Experts familiar with all types of FD&D claims who evaluate and handle claims if it is necessary for their defence
